This week, I had the opportunity to design the stage and reveal of the launch event for COVERGIRL’s new initiative with Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) called “COVERGIRL Clean Makeup for Clean Water” at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills.
COVERGIRL spokesperson Queen Latifah was joined by actress Dania Ramirez, COVERGIRL’s newest spokesperson, to introduce the elements behind this initiative.
“Childhood memories of not having clean drinking water came back to me when the COVERGIRL team and I visited the Dominican Republic a few months ago – It was so heartwarming to see how the COVERGIRL Clean Makeup for Clean Water campaign was letterally bringing big smiles to the children’s faces as they learned how to purify waster for their families and themselves”, said Dania.
COVERGIRL’s generous donation will provide over 50 million liters of clean water to children in need around the globe, potentially saving millions of lives. The campaign will deliver clean, purified drinking water to needy areas via low-cost, PUR™ packet technology that purifies even the most heavily-contaminated drinking water so it meets World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water.
According to Queen Latifah, “The bottom line is that being beautiful means more than just looking pretty on the outside; it’s about giving back and making the world more beautiful. I’m looking forward to doing my part for the COVERGIRL Clean Makeup for Clean Water Campaign and a new role I’m taking on as an Ambassador for the PUR brand.”
COVERGIRL is making it possible for their consumers to join the global effort to supply clean, safe drinking water to children in need. Starting today, COVERGIRL consumers can enter an online contest by submitting a short video explaining how you give back to make the world a better place and why this makes you beautiful, inside and out. For every entry received, COVERGIRL will provide one week’s worth of clean drinking water to a child in need. Entrants also have a chance to win a humanitarian trip with Queen Latifah to Africa as part of the next Clean Makeup for Clean Water mission.
