aka Anniversary Day & Foundation Day (if your Australian) is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, the day commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788, the hoisting of the British flag there, and the proclamation of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of Australia.

Ingredients * 1/2 cup lemon juice * 3 large garlic cloves crushed * 1 tablespoon minced shallot * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper * 1-1/2 pounds large shrimp unpeeled * Lemon slices
Directions 1. Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl then mix in shrimp. 2. Marinate at room temperature 1 hour or in the refrigerator 5 hours stirring occasionally. 3. Prepare barbecue with medium hot coals. 4. Thread shrimp on narrow skewers then grill until just opaque about 2 minutes per side. 5. Arrange skewers on platter. 6. Garnish with lemon and serve.
(Australian Virgin Bloody Mary) Ingredients (See nutrition) 1½ litres tomato juice 2 teaspoons celery or plain salt 1½ teaspoons ground black pepper 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1½ teaspoons of Tabasco or other hot chilli sauce Garnish with a wedge of lime.
Directions 1. Combine all ingredients in a large bottle or jug. Secure the lid and shake, or stir to mix until well blended. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
