Easy Easter Egg Dyeing with MYO Dye

Easter is just around the corner and I have some tips on how to boil and dye the perfect Easter Egg!


How To Boil The Perfect Easter Egg

  • Fill a pot with cold water and carefully add eggs.
  • Bring water to a rolling boil, then cover and turn off heat.
  • Let the pot set for 15 minutes before removing the eggs.
  • Pour out warm water and fill pot with cold water
  • When the eggs are cooled, remove from water and store in refrigerator.

 

How To Make Your Own Easter Egg Dye

Ingredients/Materials:

  • 1/2  cup very hot water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • Wilton Gel food coloring
  • Mugs/Cups to dye eggs in
  • Spoon or tongs
  • Toothpicks

Method:

  • Using a toothpick, dissolve gel food coloring into a mug filled with 1/2 cup hot water until water is your desired hue.  Be sure to stir until completely dissolved.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to colored water and stir
  • Using a spoon or tongs, add a hard-boiled egg to mug of dyed water and let stand until it is your desired shade.
  • Remove from colored water and let dry

*My EGGcellent Tip -
For a swirled effect, add one tablespoon of olive oil to the water/vinegar dye mix!
