When planning your next children’s party, think of fun and creative activities that the kids can do to occupy their time while at the event. I have created two great activities that can be incorporated into any party for children and adults of all ages: an MYO Party Mix Station and an MYO Cupcake Station.
MYO Party Mix Station
Gather your favorite dried food items and place them into separate bowls with small scoopers in each. Using the same exclamation bursts that we used for the table centerpieces, you can make double sided labels to show your guests what is in each bowl. Using a marshmallow and a wooden skewer, attach the burst to the stick with glue or double sided tape and stick the skewer into the marshmallow. Place the marshmallow with the skewer attached into the bowl and fill with the appropriate food item.
The food items I used were:
- Cheerios
- Popcorn
- Pretzels
- Dried Fruit – strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, cranberries, etc
- White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate covered pretzels
- Yogurt Raisins and Golden Raisins
- Nuts – peanuts, walnuts, almonds, pecans
- Plain and Peanut M&M’s

MYO Cupcake Station
Another great food activity is a MYO Cupcake Station. This allows each guest to customize their own delicious dessert. You can purchase cupcakes from your local bakery that have been iced (make sure that they are not already decorated with sprinkles, gel, etc) or you can make them using your favorite cake mix. Display the cupcakes on a separate table with the toppings in small separate bowls and use pastry bags with colored frosting or gels.

The toppings I used were:
- Chocolate and Colored Sprinkles
- Peanut Butter Cups
- Snickers
- Colored Icing Gels
- Cookie Pieces
- Chocolate Crunchies

Children and Adults of ALL ages will love this activity! Even more so, they will love to eat their art project!

A Toast Like No Other
Champagne is a staple for a New Year’s party but everyone knows that good champagne can get very pricey. To save some money this year, try creating your own signature cocktail – it’s easier than you think! I’m known for my innovative cocktails and I love to have fun with inexpensive sparkling wines – turning them into festive holiday cocktails with a few simple twists ranging from drunken cherries, cranberries and pomegranate seed to complimentary liquors such as lemoncello, elderflower and lavender.
Seen on the TODAY Show. Watch the video here.

Cherry Kiss
3 Drunken Cherries with 1 tsp juice, ½ oz lemoncello, 6 oz prosecco, garnished with a lemon twist
Cranberry 75
Three Drunken Cranberries with 1 tbs juice, ½ oz Grand Marnier, 6 oz brut sparkling wine, garnished with an orange twist

Pink POM POM
½ oz Pom Juice, ½ oz Elderflower Liquor, 6 oz brut sparkling wine, garnish with pom seeds

Non-alcoholic versions are just as good (and cheaper). Try substituting sparkling cider or using my new favorite, Mark’s Must Haves… the beverage carbonator. Make your own sparking WHATEVER to create fresh, real, authentic customized carbonated drinks easily and quickly
Make my signature sparking mock-tails like:
Pomegranate Hibiscus Fizz
3 oz pomegranate Juice, 8 oz Hibiscus Tea, 6 oz. white grape juice, 6 ice cold Water, Garnished with pomegranate seeds and orange twists
Combine all of the ingredients into the beverage carbonator, except garnishes. Carbonate the mixture according to the product instructions. Pour into a champagne flute, garnish with teaspoon of pomegranate seeds and an orange twist.
Fizzy Ginger Pear
10 oz Pear Juice, 6 oz white grape juice, ½ oz of ginger juice 8 oz. ice cold water garnished with a lemon twist
Combine all of the ingredients into the beverage carbonator, except garnishes. Carbonate the mixture according to the product instructions. Pour into a champagne flute, garnish with a lemon twist.
Baked Apple Fizz
8 oz Stewed Apple Cider (simmered with whole cinnamon, clove, anise), 8 oz of white grape juice, 8 oz ice cold water, garnished with dried apple rings
Combine all of the ingredients into the beverage carbonator, except garnishes. Carbonate the mixture according to the product instructions. Pour into a champagne flute, garnish with a dried apple ring.
