Super Saturday 13: Fun!


Super Saturday caters to the old and young Hampton-ites alike with a bevy of family-oriented activities. The event attracts major household names like Nintendo, Pinkberry, DKNY and Pop Chips as well as major celebrities. These companies vie for the attention of the influential guests by creating fun and engaging activities and a much needed rest from the hectic shopping.
One of my favorite activities this year was Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Well-being Oasis. Relaxation Practitioners administered massages and aroma therapy to the guests and crated a peaceful oasis just steps from the busy designer sale.

Essie’s complimentary manicures and Physique 57’s foot massages attracted countless people in need of a little relaxation after long hours of bargain hunting in the summer sun.
Family entertainment was not in short supply… Nintendo’s air-conditioned Wii lounge and Space Odyssey, a futuristic arcade center, kept the younger crowd busy while their parents continued bargain hunting through-out the day.

Food and drinks are always abundant at Super Saturday and this year was no exception. Patron Spirits sponsored the bar and we created two specialty bars in the Nintendo Lounge and InStyle salon – refreshing summer cocktails we always close at hand. Besides the fabulous lunch of summer fair and grilled delights served by Sant Ambroeus, snacks and treats from Pop Chips, Funky monkey, Crumb Bake Shop, Pinkberry, Carvel and Southampton’s infamous Tate’s Cookies we positioned throughout the event surrounding the sale and family activities.
Super Saturday 13: It's a Wrap!

We just finished wrapping our ninth consecutive Super Saturday – and what a Saturday it was!
The fun-filled day-long family fundraiser benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund was hosted this year by Kelly Ripa and Twilight’s Ashley Greene along with Donna Karan and InStyle Magazine. Additional guests included: Christie Brinkley, Edie Falco, Gayle King, Kelly Rutherford, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Michelle Trachtenberg, Mariska Hargitay, Rachel Zoe, Star Jones, Rudy and Judith Giuliani.
The much anticipated fashion garage sale included items from over 200 of the most prominent designers including: Donna Karan, Theory, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Catherine Malandrino, Charlotte Ronson, Diane von Furstenberg, Elizabeth & James, 7 for All Mankind, Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren. For the third consecutive year, the “Designers A to Zoe” booth by Rachel Zoe featured luxury designers such as Chloe, Derek Lam, Giuseppe Zanotti, Judith Leiber, Kara Ross, Oscar de la Renta, Stella McCartney and Temperley London.

This year’s theme was “Super Saturday Shopper” and featured a shoppers gazette-style invitation and event program, guiding guest through the designer garage sale.

Debra Roth of Pink Powered by Moss donated her time and fabric structures to adorn the outdoor dinning room, VIP tent and entranceway. I designed festive centerpieces of colorful flowerpots with wheat grass and gerbera daisies in keeping with the theme, while being budget conscience.

Cheap and cheerful was what we were going for. 120 centerpieces can get expensive on a non-profit budget, but with the caliber of guests we had we needed to keep… it… cute! However, please note: this one of the few times I will ever use balloon in a tabletop design.
EVENTSTYLE transformed the empty 7-acre property at Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill, NY in 5 days into a festival of activities and designer sale. We were not only responsible for bringing in all services and communications to conduct the sale, but all the creature comforts of home including an air-conditioned tent to accommodate 1,000 VIP guests. We needed to make our guests as comfortable as possible during the day-long event to keep them spending in the designer sale…! A gourmet lunch provided by Sant Ambroeus and full open bar sponsored by Patron Sprits revitalized and energized the guest to spend to the amazing tune of 3.4 million dollars.

Leading multimedia retailer QVC® broadcasted live from the event from 2:00PM – 4:00PM. QVC Presents Super Saturday Live offered viewers the chance to purchase a variety of products including apparel, accessories, jewelry and beauty at amazing prices with all net proceeds benefiting OCRF. As a seasoned event producer, I am at awe with QVC’s incredible and immaculate production trailers outfitted with state of the art broadcasting equipment and top notch production team.
