Party Plans

With this year’s Super Bowl in Houston, TX, I was inspired to put together an all Tex-Mex party plan. Your guests can enjoy a wide variety of foods from apps, to main dishes & sides, to desserts—and who could forget the adult beverages?! Follow my tips and menu below for a fun and unique Super Bowl party. Give it a try for the big game on February 5th! Whether you and your guests are cheering for the New England Patriots or the Atlanta Falcons, your party will be a total touchdown!

  • Individual Party Dips

Start your party off right with these individually portioned dips. As your guests arrive they can  grab their own individual dip and start snacking away. Bonus: You won’t have a big sloppy looking dip bowl on your table and there’s no fear of the dreaded double-dipping. Score!

  • Chimichanga Bar

Set up a chimichanga bar with a stadium-style buffet for your guests to enjoy as their halftime meal. The pride of America’s southwest, the chimichanga is a souped-up burrito. Stuff yours full of some combo of shredded meat, veggies, and mild chile, then deep-fry them (or bake if you prefer) and deck them out with toppings.

Hosting a big crowd? Add more items to your Tex-Mex buffet like Cilantro Lime Rice, Mexican Black Beans, and Jalisco-Style Braised Beef.

  • Beer Cocktails

You can have a plain beer any old day. It’s a party, so why not throw in a little something extra?! These crowd-pleasing beer cocktails are simple and will have your guests buzzing over your creativity and flair.

    The Quarterback
This combo of lemonade, ginger ale and lager is sure to score big!

    The Cheerleader
Add a little vodka, cranberry & orange juice to a light beer for a cheerful cocktail!

    The Pigskin Black-and-Tan
This classic mixes pale beer (like Harp) with dark beer (like Guinness) in layers.

    The End-Zone Jig
This mix of Irish whiskey and Harp will have your guests doing an end-zone dance!

  • Football Sweet Treats

Customize your desserts with your team colors! Colored Wilton candy melts can turn a regular dessert into something to cheer about. Try candy-coated cookies, candy-dipped dessert bars, and mini-cupcakes with candy caps.

Should you need another sweet snack to please your hungry crowd, try this Chocolate Chip Cookie Popcorn.
