Don’t stop with the cocktails… pack a  picnic basket complete with a red gingham table cloth and fill it with your favorite French foods like baguettes and cheeses, t traditional cassoulet and bite-sized Macaroons for dessert.

Download a playlist of your favorite iconic French chansons (songs) from Edith Piaf or Serge Gainsbourg to set the tone and transport you to a cozy cabaret-style setting.

  • Kir Royale

The Kir Royale is one of the most iconic of all Champagne cocktails and is a bubbly variation of a Kir made with white wine and Creme de Cassis, a sweet, dark red liqueur made from blackcurrants.

  • French 75

French 75 is a WW I era cocktail made from gin, Champagne, lemon juice, and sugar. It is also called a 75 Cocktail, or in French simply a Soixante Quinze (Seventy Five).

  • Formage Picnic

A romantic “picnic” by the Seine-style menu of French breads and a selection cheeses is a must-have to recreate an authentic Parisian experience.

Did you know that the three most popular types of French cheese are Camembert Brie and Roquefort?  Try all three with French baguettes and battards.

  • Cassoulet

Cassoulet is a rich, slow-cooked casserole originating in the south of France, which contains a variety of meats (typically pork sausages, duck or chicken) and white beans (haricots blancs). It is served at Brasseries all around Paris, is the specialty of the house at Brasserie Lipp where Earnest Hemingway was a regular patron.

  • Vegetarian Cassoulet

Vegetarian Cassoulet is a lighter variation of the classics version prepared with hearty vegetables instead of meats.  The preparations are very similar and the vegetarian Cassoulet is a very satisfying meal even without the meats.

  • French Macarons

Of course a French-themed picnic menu wouldn’t be complete without Macaroons! You can make your own, which is no easy task especially when your supposed to be on (stay) vacation! Better yet… order an assortment of Parisian Macaroons online (click here)
