Break chocolate squares into smaller pieces and place into double boiler.
Chocolate fondue is a very versatile dessert that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and by the foods your dipping into the rich delicacy. The Swiss, who are credited with its invention, dip cubes of cake and strawberries into melted chocolate lighted with heavy cream. The cream keeps the melted chocolate smooth and dippable while kept slightly warm by a fondue pot or small crockpot. Pair dark chocolate fondue with marshmallow fondue served with graham crackers to make campfire-like S’mores without the campfire!
