Compliment a seafood menu with Dirty Potato Chips – plain store-bought potato chips dusted with crab boil seasoning – cascading out of an elegant glass bowl makes them look all the more extraordinary.  Pair with a classic onion dip, which you can make a little dirty too! For added dramatic effect, securely prop up the chip bowl with a folded cloth napkin so that the chips cascade around the dip bowl.


Tools & Materials

4-quart serving bowl (Pictured: Simon Pearce Pure Wrap Bowl)

16-ounce dip bowl (Pictured: Simon Pearce Pure Providence Centerpiece)



  • In a large bowl gently toss potato chips with 2 tablespoons of the crab boil seasoning and set aside.

  • In a small bowl combine sour cream, soup mix and remaining crab boil seasoning. Refrigerate until use.

  • To serve, place chips in the 4 quart serving bowl and dip in a 16 ounce glass bowl.
