Boyhood is the story of Mason’s 12 years from boyhood through adolescence. Because it’s about boyhood and his mother made the mistake in dating a series of alcoholics, I decided to make this one “kid friendly.”
During a scene while Mason is visiting his sister in college, he stays up all night with his girlfriend sharing their hopes and dreams about college, staying up late to watch the sunrise. Thus, this mocktail, Texas Sunrise, was inspired.
